In October 2023, the United States resumed importing Russian oil after a break of 1.5 years, purchasing almost 37 thousand barrels of raw materials. In November, the United States bought about 10 thousand barrels more. It should be noted that in March 2022, the White House increased sanctions pressure on Russia, including a ban on the import of oil and other energy resources from the country, in response to the start of its war in Ukraine. In April 2022, the United States conducted the last purchase of a Russian oil resource at that time. In addition, in December 2023, Western countries imposed a ceiling on oil prices, limiting the purchase of «black gold» from Russia at a price exceeding $ 60 per barrel. Despite this, statistics show that in October last year, the United States imported 36.8 thousand barrels of Russian oil worth $2.7 million. In November of the same year, the country purchased another 9.9 thousand barrels worth $750 thousand. It is also worth noting that American companies purchased oil at prices of $74 and $76 per barrel, that is, well above the established price ceiling.
