Sam Altman returns to the post of CEO of OpenAI after a brief rebellion in Silicon Valley. More than 600 OpenAI employees have signed a letter in which they threaten to leave the company if the board of directors does not resign and does not return to the position as Altman. OpenAI has announced the reinstatement of its original board of directors, which includes Bret Taylor, Larry Summers and Adam D'Angelo, with Taylor taking over as chairman of the board. Information about Altman's return was published on Platform X on Wednesday morning after the main agreement was reached: «We have reached an agreement in principle that Sam Altman will return to OpenAI as CEO with the original board of directors consisting of Bret Taylor, Larry Summers and Adam D'Angelo. We are cooperating to find out all the details.» Altman was fired as CEO of OpenAI last Friday. After his dismissal, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced that Altman would lead a new artificial intelligence research group at Microsoft.
