Турецкая лира подешевела по отношению к евро и доллару США после того, как президент Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган уволил главу Центробанка страны Мурата Четинкая.

На торгах в начале недели, курс TRY/USD снизился на 1,92%, до 0,1743, минимума с начала этого месяца.

Председатель Центробанка покинул свой пост за год до окончания своего четырехлетнего срока. Исполняющим обязанности назначен его заместитель Мурат Уйсал, который в своем первом сообщении заявил, что регулятор продолжит проводить независимую денежно-кредитную политику, направленную на достижение стабильности цен.

По сообщениям ежедневной турецкой газеты Hürriyet, президент уволил главу Центробанка из-за отказа снижать процентные ставки.
