Aktivita ve službách v regionu Filadelfie se v dubnu prudce snížila, protože nové zakázky dále klesaly, i když ceny zůstávaly stále vysoké.
Index nevýrobní sféry Filadelfské federální rezervní banky se za měsíc propadl na -16,2 bodu poté, co v březnu vykázal -0,1 bodu, což je nejvíce negativní změna od prosince 2020. Index měří procento společností, které hlásí expanzi oproti kontrakci, takže jakýkoli záporný údaj představuje pokles.
Zatímco nové zakázky se propadly o 8,5 bodu na -23,9 bodu a tržby klesly z kladné hodnoty 10,3 bodu na -2,9 bodu, na poli náboru zaměstnanců se objevily dobré zprávy. Index počtu zaměstnanců na plný úvazek vyskočil z hodnoty 3,2 na 11,5 bodu. Ukazatele související s inflací však zůstaly zvýšené, přičemž placené ceny se jen nepatrně snížily na 35,7, přijaté ceny se mírně posunuly na 20,7 a náklady na mzdy a požitky vyskočily o téměř 15 procentních bodů na 39,7 bodu.
Podle pondělní zprávy filadelfského Fedu byl index výrobní aktivity rovněž hluboce negativní a dosáhl hodnoty -31,3.
