  • China is experiencing a shortage of its own steel production. This led to a 65% increase in iron and steel imports from the United States, reaching $35.2 million in March, the highest level since January last year. Experts believe that the need for additional metal is caused by the need for stable production of electric vehicles, despite the fact that China is one of the world leaders in steel production.

  • Despite the sanctions, Canada has allowed Airbus to use Russian titanium in the production of its aircraft. Previously, the company abandoned Russian raw materials in December 2022, following the example of Boeing. However, in practice, Airbus was unable to completely stop using titanium from Russia, and as a result, the Canadian authorities allowed it to return to its use in production.

  • The U.S. Senate voted to allocate $61 billion in support of Ukraine, supporting a bill approved earlier by the House of Representatives. The law will come into force after the signature of President Biden, who intends to start supplying weapons this week.

  • Washington is threatening to cut off some Chinese banks from the global financial system for helping Russia. According to American officials, these measures will reduce Beijing's support for the Russian military-industrial complex. However, experience shows that such threats to the United States work.

  • The products of the domestic auto giant AvtoVAZ will soon appear on Wildberries. The marketplace is actively expanding its new product category – «Vehicles», which was launched in April. Currently, cars from Chinese manufacturers are available for purchase, including Chery, Omoda, Jaecoo, Zeekr and Voyah. However, now Wildberries intends to add products from a Russian manufacturer to the range.
