US President Donald Trump said that in the near future, the American economy may face even more serious difficulties caused by the intensifying confrontation on the trade front. Despite this, Trump continued to defend his approach to reforming the world's largest economy. His strategy is based on a significant increase in tariffs, which has become one of the most ambitious steps in the last hundred years. According to the president, this will be an incentive for multi-trillion dollar revenue growth, as well as help restore fairness in international trade, which he considers to be out of balance. He also stressed that the expected price increase associated with the new tariff policy can be considered only a «minor turbulent moment» that the United States is able to successfully cope with. Trump expressed confidence that the tariffs imposed would help restore America to its former wealth and greatness. According to him, the results of this process are already noticeable, and soon they will become even more significant. «We are facing minor difficulties, but this is not significant and does not cause concern,» the president noted.
