The main events by the morning: May 28

• Cryptocurrencies in Russia: business has proposed changes to the mining bill. Companies engaged in mining cryptocurrencies on the territory of the Russian Federation have asked to allow foreign investors and firms to legally operate in the country. The industry needs an influx of funds and resources from friendly States. In addition, the companies asked not to impose restrictions on mining in certain regions in order to avoid litigation.

• Turkish banks promise to partially restore the flow of payments from Russia. In recent months, many Turkish banks have tightened controls on transactions related to Russia due to the risk of secondary sanctions. Payments were allowed only for goods and services from the «Green List» – tourism, food and medicine. In the summer, the list will be replenished with consumer goods and electronics.

• Russian software manufacturers have decided to approach trading differently. To maintain competitiveness in the face of sanctions, Russian software will be exported not only as a finished product, but also as source code. There are no similar offers on the world market: sharing your own code is a unique practice. 

• The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia is considering the introduction of an emergency regime at the federal level and possible import of apples. The reason is the frost in early May. Experts note that fruit and berry crops were most affected: pome, stone, berry, grapes and hops.

• The European Union is discussing possible sanctions against Israel. EU foreign ministers are considering the option of imposing measures against Israel if the government of that country does not comply with UN demands to end the military operation in Rafah, the Gaza Strip.
