The main events by the morning: March 4

• The United States is suspending military aid supplies to Ukraine until Kiev begins to facilitate the conclusion of a peace agreement. Not only the planned aid was cancelled, but also those already sent, bound for Ukraine on planes and ships, as well as those stored in transit zones in Poland.

• Trump has imposed even tougher tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. Neighboring countries will now put up with 25% duties on their products exported to the United States. But China, which previously received duties of 10%, will now face a 20% levy. Washington said that duties against China were increased due to Beijing's lack of efforts to regulate drug trafficking in the United States. 

• China has announced its intention to take retaliatory measures to double the US duties from 10% to 20%. The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China expressed disagreement with such actions, calling them a violation of trade norms and an act of intimidation. China emphasized its strict anti-drug policy and success in cooperation with the United States.

• Significant changes are taking place in the oilfield services market caused by a decrease in hydrocarbon production and a lack of demand growth. Experts suggest that such trends may lead to increased concentration of the Russian market around the largest companies, as well as to an increase in the role of service units belonging to vertically integrated oil corporations.

• BRICS sees its unification not as a counterweight to the West, but as a search for new ways to meet current trends. Developing countries have grown to a level that allows them to speak with the West on equal terms, while maintaining cooperation. Founded in 2006, the association includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia from 2024.
