According to the final estimate of the European statistical agency Eurostat, annual inflation in 19 eurozone countries accelerated to 3.4% in September – a record since September 2008. The previous indicator in August was marked at the level of 3%. The indicator coincided with analysts' forecasts and preliminary assessment. A year earlier, deflation of 0.3% was recorded in the eurozone. On a monthly basis, consumer prices in the eurozone increased by 0.5% in September, which also coincided with the preliminary estimate. Core annual inflation accelerated to 1.9% from 1.6% a month earlier. The indicator coincided with the analysts' forecast and preliminary assessment.
