Финская компания Nokia подала в суд на американскую Apple за патентные нарушения, касающиеся технологий, используемых в продукции компании Apple. Nokia в течении нескольких лет пытается безуспешно урегулировать этот вопрос. В 2011 году Apple уже выплачивала финской компании 720 млн долларов в качестве роялти за право использования некоторых патентов Nokia. Более того, Nokia получила право на получение определенной суммы с каждого проданного IPhone. 

С новым исковым заявлением  компания Nokia обратилась в суды США и Германии, утверждая о нарушении еще 32-х патентов на новые технологии производства дисплеев, разработку пользовательского интерфейса и ПО. Однако компания Apple не согласна с претензией и выдвинула встречный иск, утверждая, что Nokia нарушила договор от 2011 года в целях вымогательства у американского концерна дополнительного роялти. Представители Apple утверждают, что всегда платили и готовы платить разумную и справедливую цену за патенты на используемые технологии.
