Bank of America analysts predict that the stock market in the United States will rise in the coming months. Moreover, the market is expected to fall in May, after which the indicators will begin to grow again. According to forecasts, the benchmark S&P 500 index could surpass its previous highs, potentially adding 5%. In this regard, the bank's technical strategists advise investors to buy stocks on a potential drawdown in May before the rally starts again in the summer months. In particular, analysts point to the flashing of various technical indicators, which indicates that the market is first waiting for a «bearish impulse» before it starts to grow. Moreover, the future growth of stocks is supported by the Dow theory, according to which the market can resume growth if one of the segments of the Dow Jones industrial Index overcomes the previous maximum. It is expected that the S&P 500 may rise by 5%, that is, above its previous highs from 4,195 to 4,325 points. The current index index is 4055.99.
