Курс новозеландского доллара относительно доллара США достиг минимальных значений за последние 2,5 года, после того как Резервный банк Новой Зеландии (РБНЗ) заявил о планах сохранить ставки на уровне 1,75% еще на 2 года.

Чиновники Центробанка считают, что перспективы экономики страны по-прежнему остаются слабыми. Таким образом, ставки сохранятся на рекордно-низком уровне до 2020 года – дольше, чем прогнозировали на предыдущем заседании.

Регулятор также понизил прогноз экономического роста на 2018 год, поскольку исследования показали снижение уверенности в сфере бизнеса и спад на рынке недвижимости.

Кроме того, увеличились риски для экспорта Новой Зеландии из-за роста напряженности в мировой торговле.
