Власти Германии оштрафовали компанию Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) на 2 млн евро за нарушение закона о прозрачности интернета.

Федеральное управление юстиции Германии обвило Facebook в предоставлении неполной информации о количестве нелегального контента в социальной сети.

В последнее время Facebook активно критикуют из-за влияния на избирательный процесс в США и Великобритании, поэтому представители социальной сети активно работают над тем, чтобы восстановить репутацию и вернуть доверие пользователей.

На текущий момент руководство Facebook не прокомментировало решение о штрафе, которое можно будет обжаловать согласно действующему в Германии законодательству.

В 2018 году Facebook отчиталась, что во втором полугодии получила 1.048 жалоб на размещение нелегального контента.
