The UK has decided to temporarily suspend negotiations with Israel on a free trade agreement amid the ongoing Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip. This step was announced by British Foreign Minister David Lammy during his speech in the House of Commons of Parliament. The minister noted that the decision to suspend negotiations was due to the actions of the Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu. According to him, the Israeli Prime Minister is obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and increasing the scale of military operations in the region. In this regard, Lammy stressed that London cannot stay away from what is happening. In addition, he announced plans to summon the Israeli Ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, to the British Foreign Office to discuss the current situation.
