В пятницу, 31 января 2020 года, в 23:00 GMT Великобритания официально выходит из состава Евросоюза. Напомним, что с момента референдума по Brexit прошло уже более 3,5 лет.

Великобритания входит в переходный период, который продлится до 31 декабря 2020 года. В этот год Великобритания по-прежнему будет членом европейского таможенного союза и единого рынка. Кроме того, граждане смогут свободно пересекать границу Великобритании и ЕС. Однако представителей Соединенного королевства больше не будет в Европарламенте и Еврокомиссии. Таким образом Великобритания будет подчиняться законам ЕС, но не будет иметь права голоса.

Главный вопрос прямо сейчас – новое торговое соглашение между Великобританией и Евросоюзам. Если им не удастся заключить договор, то торговля будет осуществляться по правилам ВТО, что одинаково невыгодно для обеих сторон.

Премьер-министр Великобритании Борис Джонсон назвал Brexit великолепным моментом, который дает стране новые надежды и возможности. Также он неоднократно подчеркивал, что не намерен продлевать срок переходного периода.
