Погранично-таможенная служба США отметила существенное снижение количества нелегальных мигрантов, пересекающих сухопутную границу между США и Мексикой, только за первый месяц пребывания Дональда Трампа на посту президента Соединенных Штатов. Как отмечает служба, поток нелегалов снизился на 40% (с 31 до 18 тысяч человек).

При этом отмечается, что ранее февраль обычно являлся месяцем, имеющим очень высокие показатели по нелегальной иммиграции. Количество людей, незаконно пересекающих американскую границу в феврале всегда превышали данные за январь на 20%. Жесткая миграционная политика нового президента США смогла кардинально изменить ситуацию. Обновленные данные крайне благоприятны для дальнейшей политики Дональда Трампа, поскольку он активно выступал против нелегальной иммиграции во время своей предвыборной кампании. 

Напомним, что ранее президент подписал указ о возведении стены вдоль южной границы между двумя соседствующими странами.
