Министерство нефти Ирака планирует, что цена на нефть в 2017 году будет находиться  в районе $60-70 за баррель после того, как решения ОПЕК о сокращении нефтедобычи вступят в силу. Сейчас нефть торгуется около отметки 53 доллара за баррель. Котировки снижаются на опасениях по поводу несоблюдения договоренностей  ОПЕК от 30 ноября 2016 года.

Картель ограничил добычу нефти, чтобы стабилизировать ситуацию на мировом рынке. Предполагается, что к соглашению также присоединятся нефтедобывающие страны, не являющиеся членами организации. Россия одной из первой выразила готовность ограничить добычу «черного золота».
 
Ирак – важный член ОПЕК. Министр Нефти Ирака надеется, что цена за баррель нефти в 2017 году будет торговаться в районе $60-70 и, что это произойдет уже в самом скором времени, если страны-участники незамедлительно начнут выполнять условия соглашения. Представители Ирака будет присутствовать на встрече стран не входящих в картель, которое состоится 10 декабря в Вене.
