Резервный банк Индии ввел в обращение банкноту номиналом в 200 рупий

Резервный банк Индии (RBI) ввел в обращение новую банкноту номиналом в 200 рупий. Ранее подобный номинал купюр никогда не использовался в фискальной системе страны. Представители регулятора отмечают, что это нововведение позволит восполнить недостающее звено в наличных платежах населения, упростив осуществление сделок с низкой номинальной стоимостью. Что, в свою очередь, сможет повысить эффективность всей финансовой системы Индии. 

В ноябре прошлого года в стране была проведена деноминация, исключившая из оборота банкноты в 500 и 1000 рупий. Результатом стал серьезный дефицит наличности и нехватка денежных знаков небольшого номинала. 

Новая купюра имеет размер 66 на 146 мм и обладает повышенной степенью защиты от контрафакции. Цветовая гамма банкноты представлена желто-оранжевыми цветами, лицевая сторона украшена портретом Махатмы Ганди. На оборотной стороне изображена важная достопримечательность Центральной Индии – буддистская ступа в Санчи. Теперь, после введения в обращение новой купюры, денежная система страны представлена монетами номиналом в 1, 2, 5 и 10 рупий, а также бумажными деньгами по 10, 20, 50, 200, 500 и 2000 рупий.
