Глава Федеральной резервной системы Джером Пауэлл заявил, что чиновники регулятора будут терпеливыми при принятии решения о повышении процентных ставок, пока не проанализируют возможные негативные последствия ужесточения монетарной политики, их влияние на рост экономики США в этом году.

Дж. Пауэлл отметил, что на текущий момент нет признаков чрезмерно высокой инфляции или наличия крупных рисков на финансовых рынках, однако в ближайшие месяцы регулятор намерен наблюдать и ждать, поскольку среди участников рынков существуют опасения по поводу развития экономики США.

Глава Федрезерва подчеркнул, что инфляция низкая и находится под контролем, поэтому у регулятора есть время для анализа и оценки ситуации.

Ранее, в декабре, были обнародованы прогнозы чиновников ФРС, которые предполагали повышение ставки два раза в 2019 году. Однако Пауэлл отметил, что данные прогнозы не являются «планом» регулятора.
