Мэй просит ЕС отсрочить Brexit до 30 июня

Премьер-министр Великобритании Тереза Мэй направила председателю Европейского совета Дональду Туску запрос о переносе сроков Brexit’a на 30 июня.

Глава британского правительства объявила в парламенте, что намерена завершить процесс выходы страны из состава Евросоюза до 30 июня и не планирует просить власти ЕС о новом переносе даты.

Мэй подчеркнула, что намерена избежать участия страны в выборах в Европарламент, которые пройдут 23-26 мая. Кроме того, глава Еврокомиссии Жан-Клод Юнкер также заявлял, что Великобритания должна выйти из ЕС до выборов.

Ранее премьер-министр планировала завершить Brexit до 29 марта, однако не смогла этого сделать из-за отсутствия поддержки со стороны парламента.  При этом законодатели разрешили правительству Терезы Мэй просить ЕС об отсрочке.
