Uber покупает конкурента за $3,1 млрд

Компания Uber заключила сделку о покупке сервиса такси Careem Networks FZ, конкурента работающего в странах Ближнего Востока, за $3,1 млрд.

Из них $1,4 млрд будет выплачено наличными, остальное – конвертируемыми нотами. Закрытие сделки запланировано на первый квартала 2020 года, поскольку впереди сложная процедура согласования с регуляторами в 15 странах, где работает Careem.

Данная сделка является самой дорогой для Uber и первой покупкой регионального конкурента, в результате сервис такси Uber станет ведущей компанией отрасли в ближневосточном регионе. После поглощения Careem продолжит работать под своим брендом в качестве «дочки» Uber.

Ранее представители компании Uber объявляли о планах по размещению акций на Нью-Йоркской фондовой бирже в апреле текущего года, данное IPO может войти в пятерку крупнейших размещений ценных бумаг в истории. При этом сделка с Careem не будет отображена в первых публичных отчетах компании из-за ее позднего завершения.

Эксперты полагают, что Uber может рассчитывать на оценку около $120 млрд в ходе размещения ценных бумаг на бирже. Выручка компании в 2018 году достигла $3 млрд, убыток – $1,8 млрд.
