Индекс доллара США достиг максимума за последние четыре недели после высказываний председателя Федеральной резервной системы Джерома Пауэлла относительно несвоевременности снижения процентных ставок в краткосрочной перспективе.

Глава ФРС заявил, что задолженность корпораций достигла рекордного уровня (около 35% от стоимости активов) и предложил руководству предприятий и инвесторам взять паузу.

Дж. Пауэлл высказал сомнения относительно необходимости снижения процентных ставок в ближайшее время, при этом подчеркнул, что текущая ситуация существенно отличается от финансового кризиса 2007 года.

По состоянию на 16:22 мск фьючерс на индекс доллара США, показывающий силу доллара относительно корзины шести основных мировых валют, подорожал на 0,12%, до 97,877, и торгуется в области максимумов за последние два года.

Кроме того, резкое подорожание американской валюты было вызвано заявлением председателя Резервного банка Австралии Филиппа Лоу о том, что регулятор рассмотрит вопрос о смягчении кредитно-денежной политики на июньском заседании.
