Власти Венесуэлы прекратили публикацию официальных экономических данных, касающихся инфляции и денежной массы в стране. Уже на протяжении года в стране бушует гиперинфляция, и новые меры вновь усложнили жизнь венесуэльцев, лишив общественность последнего инструмента для прогнозирования уровня цен в стране. Однако никакие официальные подтверждения уже не нужны, чтобы оценить экономику Венесуэлы при режиме Мадуро как одну из самых худших в мире. 

Индикатор денежной массы прекратил свое появление на официальном сайте Центробанка страны еще в конце февраля. Ранее был прекращен выход данных о валовом внутреннем продукте (ВВП), платежном балансе и индексе дефицита потребительских товаров. Парламент страны, находящийся в оппозиции с властями Венесуэлы, публикует собственные данные, фиксирующие 741%-ную инфляцию. Президента страны обвиняют в умышленном снижении актуальных инфляционных данных в попытке скрыть размер экономического кризиса и беспорядка.
